Mindy's senseless death was one of the those we read about in the paper or hear about on radio/tv, but seldon know the people involved.

Mindy was raped, strangled, and burglarized in her Lake Saint Louis Condo on September 30, 1995 by a total stranger, out on parole from the State of Illinois.

It has long been said: "Justice delayed is justice denied." 19 years after the unthinkable rape and murder of Mindy Griffin, justice has finally come to her, and to her family and all who know her and suffered her loss.

At 12:11 am on Wednesday, August 6th. 2014, Michael Worthington was executed by lethal injection by the State of Missouri.

In denying Worthington's clemency request, Governor Jay Nixon called Worthington's 1995 rape and murder "horrific," noting "there is no question about the brutality of this crime - or doubt of Michael Worthington's guilt."Worthington was sentenced to death in 1998 after pleading guilty to Melinda "Mindy" Griffin's death. DNA tests later linked Worthington to the slaying. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)

Mindy's parents, Jack and Carol Angelbeck, have been tireless and unrelenting in working within a difficult and complicated criminal justice system over all these years. Theyflew to St. Louis to visit their daughter's grave and witness the execution. Carol and Jack, along with their entire family, want to express their deep and everlasting gratitude to everyone who has supported them for nearly 20 years.

Thank you and God bless you.
